ONIX

ONIX is an XML format for sharing bibliographic data pertaining to both print books and E-Books. It allows Evan-Moor Educational Publishers to create and manage rich metadata about our products, and to exchange it with our partners (distributors and retailers) in a consistant and largely automated manner. You can be assured that the title information you receive from us is always up-to-date with any changes to our bibliographic data, current pricing, and will automatically include any new additions to our product line.

Our Feed
Evan-Moor provides the following types of data to our trading partners who wish to sell our product:
  • Bibliographic and descriptive data
  • Cover image files
We provide ONIX v.2.1 or ONIX v.3. The individual partner sets the frequency of the feed. The most common is a weekly feed, but this is dictated by the time it takes to process the feed on any partner’s end. We do aim to have the feeds go out on the same day of each week.

We either send full backlist feeds, which include all records (normally at account set-up), or delta feeds (most common for existing accounts), which only include new and modified records since the last feed sent to that partner.

To begin receiving feeds, please provide us with the following information:
  • What is the name of your company?
  • How will you be using our feed?
  • Do you want a one-time complete backlist file?
  • Do you prefer ONIX v2.1 or ONIX v3?
  • What is your FTP information for the feed?
  • Will you require cover files? We will provide you with an area to pick them up.
  • Who is the technical contact at your company? Please provide an email address and phone number.
  • Is this the person who should receive notifications regarding our ONIX feed? If not, who would you like to be notified when updated feeds are available?
